IMPACT CAMPAIGN

JOIN SISTER'S MISSION

This documentary celebrates Sister Maria Rosa Leggol’s life, her humanitarian efforts and entrepreneurial endeavors which have affected so many Honduran citizens and their communities.

Our campaign will focus on three overarching objectives:

  1. Raise global awareness about Sister's life saving work

  2. Inspire people to help support her mission with fiscal sponsorship

  3. Cement her powerful legacy by ensuring that her organization can continue her mission of advocating for, and protecting, Honduran children.

Sister Maria Rosa Leggol

“Once I had a group of young people who were so rebellious.  I gave them some pencil and paper and told them ‘we will write anything that’s bothering us on this paper.’ And we burned those pieces of paper. Our past is now ashes…now we are going to start living a new life.”

ABOUT SAN

Sociedad Amigos de los Niños (SAN) was founded by Sister María Rosa Leggol on November 23, 1966. As the oldest non-for-profit organization in Honduras, SAN continues to provide social, health and educational programs to the most vulnerable of the Honduran population.

EDUCATION AND WORK
FORCE DEVELOPMENT

SAN operates several education centers—Reyes Irene School for Girls, as well as Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary schools—that provide comprehensive learning and vocation training for students.

HOUSING

SAN operates homes for children in vulnerable situations—who’ve been orphaned, abandoned, or removed from their homes—and provides a safe and loving environment.

HEALTHCARE

SAN operates several healthcare facilities—hospitals and clinics—with the aim of providing healthcare to those without equal access, including Maternal and Child Medicine.

ENTREPRENEURIAL
PROGRAMS

SAN supports programs that contribute to the eradication of poverty in Honduras, through the formulation and execution of entrepreneurial projects that create an impact in the community.

CRISIS RESPONSE

SAN engages in emergency relief and crisis response efforts to support the local communities that they serve in times of crisis.

COMMUNITY CARE

SAN centers their efforts in community care, providing support services to individuals and families to ensure that the community is thriving.

SUPPORT GIRLS EDUCATION

Reyes Irene Valenzuela School for Girls in Tegucigalpa is a secondary school that educates and empowers young women in Honduras. Coming from extreme poverty and vulnerable situations, at Reyes Irene these girls receive top quality education, as well as healthcare, legal support, and technical and vocational training.

Educating girls transforms families, communities, and countries. As part of the film release, we're raising funds to support Reyes Irene and their mission to give access to education to girls in Honduras.

We're partnering with Honduran Children's Rescue Fund to raise funds through the end of 2023.
